I found one of those typical sketches fashion people always do to illustrate their designs on one of those online clothing shops, MARCH. I think I've been pretty good at copying or sketching from photographs but I haven't developed much in visualising and translating that to paper.

Once I've managed a bit of time, I would be trying out landscape drawings.

Cherry Blossoms

This is totally CNY, cherry blossoms being the decorative flowers for the festive season. The sketch is roughly adapted from a photograph of cherry blossoms I took at the Flower Show at Sentosa some years back.

This pretty much conclude my very quiet CNY this year, with many families not partaking in this year's celebration due to death or decision to celebrate overseas.

Nevertheless, may this year be a prosperous one.

Wild flowers of the field

I remember taking this picture in Level 1 for a photography assignment. And that was one of the first times I ever used a DSLR. Film school really does force you to go far with the camera. This was one of my favourites because I got all excited capturing the bee. The sketch though didn't turn out as well. Ah well, practice practice.

Back to Drawing

One of my Christmas presents last year was this drawing book that looks like it has 5000 pages. Probably more. It is timely I guess for the fact that I've been thinking of practicing drawing especially storyboarding with pencils, crayons and ink. Don't really fancy oil paint and water colours at the moment. So it's back to practicing sketching and shading primarily but what I need to learn is to draw humans and facial expressions. So I'm starting by sketching from photographs I've taken over the years. This really stunning white flower was taken during winter in Perth.
