Step Up 2 The Streets

Following the hit Step Up in 2006, Step Up 2 The Streets features a young rebellious street dancer called Andie (Briana Evigan) who tries to fit into the Maryland School of the Arts, where everything seems refined and out of her league. There, she met Chase (Robert Hoffman), the hottest and one of the most talented dancers in the school.

Before entering the school, Andie was part of a crew that trains and dances at illegal street dance competitions. After being kicked out, Chase had encouraged her to start her own crew with the hidden talents in the school.

After going through a rather cliché storyline with very cliché themes of lower-class vs refine and boy meets girl, the movie is rendered excellent because of the dance scenes that take up a good half of the duration of the movie.

At the end of it, you feel that unreal inspiration of pursuing your wildest dreams despite all, just like the crew who ‘feared no expulsion’, abandoned the school’s fundraising and went to the streets.
